What to Expect from the Virtual Coffee \nThe Virtual Coffee will provide participants with a practical pre-arrival information package covering the most important aspects of their mobility experience in Romania. \nThe organising team will introduce participants to Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu Jiu and provide essential information about travelling to Romania and reaching Târgu Jiu. Participants will receive guidance on arrival arrangements\, accommodation\, local transportation\, university facilities\, course locations and the main academic\, cultural and social activities planned during the week. \nThe session will also explain how the different learning activities are organised\, what participants can expect from their programmes and what they should prepare before departure. Practical recommendations regarding travel documents\, clothing\, local services\, meals\, communication and everyday life in Romania will help participants arrive well prepared for their mobility. \nMost importantly\, the Virtual Coffee will provide an opportunity to meet fellow ACExperience and other ACE²-EU participants before travelling. Students and staff from different partner institutions will be able to connect with their course colleagues\, meet members of the local organising team and ask practical questions in an informal and friendly setting. \n \n \n 2. One Week\, Many ACE²-EU Experiences \nThe mobility week in Târgu Jiu will be much more than participation in an individual course. \nAlongside the four learning programmes\, participants will arrive during one of the most dynamic weeks of the ACE²-EU academic year\, coinciding with the ACE²-EU Annual Congress and the Kaleidoscope Culture Festival 2026 — “100 Voices – One Future.” \nThis unique combination of academic\, cultural and Alliance-wide activities will create opportunities for participants to meet students\, academics\, university staff and stakeholders from across ACE²-EU\, exchange perspectives\, build international connections and experience the diversity of the Alliance community. \nThe Kaleidoscope Culture Festival\, taking place from 28 to 30 October\, will add a strong intercultural dimension to the mobility experience\, creating a shared space for cultural exchange\, creativity and dialogue across the Alliance. \n \n \n 3. Four Learning Journeys — One International Community \nFrom exploring fake news and its social impact\, circular economy and sustainability\, and agritourism and local traditions\, to discussing Europe’s response to global challenges\, participants will approach contemporary societal issues from different disciplinary and cultural perspectives. \nAt the same time\, they will share one common experience: being part of an international ACE²-EU community gathered in Târgu Jiu. \nThe Virtual Coffee is therefore more than a practical information session. It is the first meeting point of your mobility journey — a space to connect\, prepare\, ask questions and discover the academic\, cultural and social experiences that await you in Romania. \n \n \n 4. SUMMARY:ACE²-EU Virtual Town Hall Meeting | Our Values in Action
DESCRIPTION:« All Events\n \n\n	ACE²-EU Virtual Town Hall Meeting | Our Values in Action\n 29 September 2026\n @\n11:00 pm\n –\n	13 November 2026\n @\n12:00 pm\n \nDate: 29 September 2026Time: 11:00 CETFormat: OnlineMain Speaker & Moderator: Ana Nikodinovska Krstevska\, Goce Delčev University (UGD)\, North Macedonia \nWhat does it mean to belong to a European University Alliance built around shared values? How can these values guide our academic communities\, shape institutional cooperation\, and be translated into meaningful practices across our universities? On 29 September 2026\, at 11:00 CET\, the ACE²-EU community is invited to come together for a new edition of the ACE²-EU Virtual Town Hall Meeting\, entitled “Our Values in Action”. \n\nSession starts in \n 00\n Days\n 00\n Hours\n 00\n Minutes\n 00\n Seconds \nThis session has already taken place. \n \n \n 1. About This Edition \nParticipation is open to the wider ACE²-EU community. Students\, teachers\, researchers\, administrative staff\, coordinators\, and external stakeholders are warmly invited to take part in the discussion. \nRegistration is required. Following registration\, participants will receive the necessary information for joining the online meeting. \nThis edition will provide a space for reflection\, dialogue\, and active participation around the values that underpin the identity and mission of the ACE²-EU Alliance. The meeting will also highlight the work carried out\, with particular attention to the ACE²-EU Values Brochure and the ACE²-EU Values Toolbox\, two resources designed to articulate our common principles and support their practical implementation across the Alliance. \n \n \n 2. Main Speaker \nAna Nikodinovska Krstevska — Goce Delčev University (UGD)\, North Macedonia \nThe session will be coordinated and moderated by Ana Nikodinovska Krstevska\, who will guide participants through a discussion on the role of shared values in strengthening cooperation\, participation\, and a common sense of belonging within the ACE²-EU community. \n \n \n 3. About the ACE²-EU Virtual Town Hall Meetings \nThe ACE²-EU Virtual Town Hall Meetings are conceived as regular online forums that foster dialogue\, transparency\, participation\, and engagement across the Alliance. \nThey provide an open and inclusive setting in which students\, teachers\, researchers\, administrative staff\, institutional coordinators\, and external stakeholders from across the ACE²-EU partner institutions can meet beyond institutional and disciplinary boundaries. \nThe Town Hall Meetings aim to provide updates on Alliance activities and developments while\, more importantly\, creating opportunities for members of the community to exchange perspectives\, raise questions\, provide feedback\, discuss common challenges\, and contribute to the ongoing development of ACE²-EU. \nThrough this participatory approach\, the Virtual Town Hall Meetings support a culture of dialogue and shared responsibility\, ensuring that the development of the Alliance is informed by the voices and experiences of the communities it brings together. \n \n \n 4. Our Values in Action \nThe September edition will focus specifically on the shared values of ACE²-EU and on the ways in which these values can move beyond statements of principle to become part of our everyday academic and institutional practices. \nValues are fundamental to the identity of a European University Alliance. They influence how we collaborate\, how we engage with our communities\, how we approach education and research\, and how we build an inclusive\, responsible\, and connected European academic environment. \nThe meeting will therefore invite participants not only to explore what our shared values are\, but also to consider a broader question: How can we collectively transform shared values into shared practices and meaningful action? \nThe discussion will encourage participants to reflect on how the principles promoted by ACE²-EU can inform cooperation across institutions\, disciplines\, professional roles\, and national contexts\, while contributing to a stronger common identity across the Alliance. \n \n \n 5. Your Voice Matters \nThe ACE²-EU Virtual Town Hall Meeting is designed as a participatory forum rather than a one-way presentation. Participants will be encouraged to share their perspectives\, exchange experiences\, ask questions\, and contribute actively to the discussion. \nThe diversity of voices represented across our universities is essential to understanding how our shared values can be meaningfully embedded in the everyday life of the Alliance. \nJoin the conversation. Share your perspective. Help us turn our shared values into shared action. \n \n \n 6. Course Description \nOnline teaching often fails and we usually blame the platform (or the students!). But lecture-by-Teams/Zoom does not become better teaching because the camera is on\, and a sharper microphone does not sharpen learning. When online courses do not work\, the cause is almost always pedagogical\, not technological. \nThis 2-hour synchronous session diagnoses what breaks down in online environments and works through design that helps fix it. The focus is the substance underneath the platform: how we make teaching relevant to learners; how learners engage with content\, with each other and with the educator; what active\, experiential and challenge-based learning require structurally; and how to redesign sessions so that participation and collaboration become the default rather than the exception. \nParticipants leave with a working framework\, a small set of pedagogical design tools they can apply immediately and a clearer sense of where technology choices matter and where they do not. \n \n \n 5. Structure & Methodology \nThe 2-hour session includes: \n\nA diagnostic warm-up in which participants identify their design bias and identify what is currently not working in their own online courses\, before any new framing is introduced.\nA short input segment reframing the diagnosis: separating pedagogical design problems from technological ones\, and locating active\, experiential and challenge-based learning within that distinction.\nAn example showing how a typical lecture-format online session is redesigned around learner activity\, collaboration and structured challenge.\nA guided redesign activity in small breakout groups\, in which participants apply the framework to one of their own course sessions and receive structured peer feedback.\nA synthesis and commitment round in which each participant leaves with one specific design change they will make to their next online session.\n\n \n \n 6. Learning Objectives \n\nTo distinguish pedagogical design problems from technological problems in online teaching\, and to give participants the language to make that distinction in their own work.\nTo develop a working understanding of active\, experiential and challenge-based learning as design principles and to show what each one requires of a synchronous online session.\nTo equip participants with concrete redesign tools they can apply immediately and a structured way to test whether a design change has worked.\n\n \n \n 7. SUMMARY:Kaleidoscope Culture Festival 2026 – Second Edition “100 Voices – One Future”
DESCRIPTION:Period: 28-30 October 2026 \nSchedule (draft version): \n \n  \nOrganised by: Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu Jiu\, Romania \nDeadline for registration: 20 May 2026 \nCertificate of attendance: Yes \nRegistrationlink: https://forms.gle/K2bn5VuTvGDQPyZi8 \n\nObjectives: The Kaleidoscope Culture Festival aims to foster intercultural dialogue\, mutual understanding\, and collaboration amongst students from all ACE²-EU partner universities\, by creating a shared space where cultural diversity is not merely presented\, but actively experienced\, explored\, and celebrated.\n Event short description (from the project): The ACE²-EU Kaleidoscope Culture Festival will allow students of the alliance to showcase their respective cultures to others at a festival setting and on an annual basis coinciding with the Annual Assemblies of the alliance to promote multiculturalism\, multilingualism\, and inclusion across the alliance. Student teams from each member university will create a different and novel cultural programme each year to reflect their national and regional identity and heritage. The cultural and linguistic programmes to be presented can be composed of individual/multiple elements including national and regional forms of art\, literature\, language\, music\, dance\, sport\, or cuisine.\n Target group: ACE²-EU Alliance Students\n Structure & Methodology: The Kaleidoscope Culture Festival 2026 is a three-day intercultural experience built around two core principles: collaboration and creative expression. Rather than simply presenting cultures side by side\, the festival brings students together to co-create\, dialogue\, and learn from one another.\n\nDay 1 – 28 October – Students kick off the festival with team-building activities\, the Puzzle of Culture Challenge\, and the Student Innovation Lab. The evening features the International Cultural & Creative Showcase and a Folk Dance Night. \nDay 2 – 29 October – A day of hands-on learning through Exploratory Practice Labs\, theatrical performances\, an ACE Talk\, and a Digital Storytelling Lab\, ending with a Masquerade Ball. \nDay 3 – 30 October – The final day brings reflection\, a City Exhibition\, and the ACE Gala Awards Ceremony\, closing with a Grand Dinner. \nThe festival’s methodology is rooted in the principles of interculturality\, going beyond simply acknowledging cultural differences to actively fostering dialogue\, shared experiences\, and mutual learning between participants. This distinguishes the Kaleidoscope Culture Festival from a traditional cultural showcase: students are not passive spectators but active co-creators throughout the entire experience. \nThe festival draws on several key pedagogical approaches: \n\nChallenge-based learning – students arrive with pre-developed proposals responding to a real-world question: “How can cultural diversity strengthen social well-being in communities?” This encourages critical thinking and the development of concrete\, applicable solutions.\nLearning by doing – through Exploratory Practice Labs\, Digital Storytelling workshops\, and theatrical performances\, students engage in hands-on activities that make cultural exchange tangible and meaningful.\nCo-creation – rather than presenting ready-made content\, students collaborate across universities and cultural backgrounds to jointly develop ideas\, outputs\, and performances.\nReflection – a dedicated reflection session on the final day allows participants to consolidate their experiences\, drawing personal and collective insights from the festival.\nAlignment with ACE²-EU values – every activity is designed to reinforce the core values of the Alliance: multiculturalism\, multilingualism\, inclusion\, and a shared European identity.\n\nTogether\, these approaches ensure that the Kaleidoscope Culture Festival is not simply an event\, but a meaningful intercultural learning experience that leaves a lasting impact on all participants. \n\n Registration and participation (include link): https://forms.gle/K2bn5VuTvGDQPyZi8\n\nParticipants must attend the full sessions and contribute to collaborative tasks: Yes \n\n Attendance certification: Yes\n Contact & Coordination\n\n    For any questions or support related to the event\, please contact: \n\n\n\nAsnāte Kalēja\nLatvian Academy of Culture\nasnate.kaleja@lka.edu.lv\n\n\nVilda Grybauskiene\nLietuvos Inzinerijos Kolegija Higher Education Institution\nvilda.grybauskiene@lik.tech\n\n\n Carolina Müller\nCarinthia University of Applied Sciences\nC.Mueller@fh-kaernten.at\n\n\nGabriela Dobrota\nUniversity Constantin Brâncuși Târgu-Jiu\ngdobrota70@gmail.com\n\n\nVerónica Berhongaray\nFrancisco de Vitoria University\nv.berhongaray@ufv.es\n\n\nEmilia Wiśniewska/Marzena Kołtoniak\nMedical University of Gdańsk\nwelcome@gumed.edu.pl\n\n\nSusana Franco\nSantarém Polytechnic University\nsfranco@esdrm.ipsantarem.pt\n\n\nMarija Gogova Samonikov\nGoce Delcev University Stip\nmarija.gogova@ugd.edu.mk\n\n\nJanine Lang\nTechnische Hochschule Ingolstadt\njanine.lang@thi.de\n\n\n\n  \nDownloald KALEIDOSCOPE OPEN CALL

Course Description \nThe ABC programme “Pathways to Climate Neutral Campuses – Co-Creating Action Plans for Sustainable Universities” is a practice-oriented course in which students work in interdisciplinary teams to develop realistic climate action solutions for higher education institutions. Through online sessions and onsite workshops in Riga\, participants explore climate neutrality\, sustainability\, and environmental governance in universities\, focusing on key impact areas such as energy use\, mobility\, waste\, infrastructure\, and resource consumption. During the onsite mobility week\, students identify sustainability challenges\, assess environmental impacts\, and develop Climate Neutrality Guidelines or Climate Action Plans for real university contexts. They apply practical tools such as stakeholder mapping\, basic carbon footprint logic\, resource-flow analysis\, prioritisation methods\, and design thinking to transform challenges into feasible solutions. The programme combines theoretical input with practical workshops and field visits enabling students to connect sustainability frameworks with real institutional implementation. \n \n \n 3. Learning Journey \nOnline sessions (October 12 to November 2): Students’ baseline knowledge of climate neutrality concepts\, sustainability governance\, and institutional environmental performance is assessed through structured discussions and preparatory analytical tasks. This phase also equips them with methodological tools for campus-level analysis. \nOnsite sessions (Riga\, November 9–13\, 2026): The onsite mobility week functions as an applied sustainability laboratory where students work intensively in interdisciplinary teams to develop practical climate action proposals for universities. Participants engage with real university sustainability challenges covering areas such as energy efficiency\, mobility systems\, waste and circular resource management\, infrastructure performance\, and sustainability governance. Workshops combine short expert inputs with hands-on application sessions focused on environmental impact assessment\, stakeholder mapping\, prioritisation of sustainability interventions\, feasibility analysis\, climate action planning\, and creative design thinking. The programme also includes field visits to sustainability-related sites and initiatives in Riga. Each team develops a structured final output in the form of either Climate Neutrality Guidelines or a Climate Action Plan for a defined university context\, including a clear problem definition\, strategic objectives\, proposed interventions\, implementation timeline\, responsible stakeholders\, and monitoring indicators. The mobility week concludes with final presentations and reflection sessions. \nFollow-up / reflection: In an online session held after the mobility week\, interdisciplinary teams present the refined version of their Climate Neutrality Guidelines or Climate Action Plan and reflect on their learning process. Students critically assess how their initial knowledge and baseline analysis developed into practical solutions\, what challenges they encountered in translating sustainability concepts into operational measures\, and how interdisciplinary collaboration influenced decision-making. Where possible\, presentations are shared with university management representatives. \n \n \n 4. Learning Objectives \n\nExplain the concept of climate neutrality and its relevance to environmental safety\, sustainability\, and institutional resilience in higher education.\nIdentify and analyze key sources of greenhouse gas emissions and environmental impacts within a university context\, including energy use\, mobility\, waste\, and resource management.\nCollaborate effectively in interdisciplinary and international teams to co-create practical sustainability solutions.\n\n \n \n 5. The Active Learning Pedagogy School (ALPS) addresses a key question in higher education: how can university teachers design learning experiences that are meaningful\, inclusive and lasting? \n\nApplication deadline \n 00\n Days\n 00\n Hours\n 00\n Minutes\n 00\n Seconds \nApplications are now closed. \n \n \n 1. Organising Institution & Teaching Staff \nLead and Host Institution: “Constantin Brâncuși” University of Târgu Jiu (UCB) — Andreea Mihaela Cilibiu\, PhD\, Lecturer (Course Coordinator); Cătălin-Ionuț Drăgan\, PhD candidate; Elena Paliță\, PhD\, Lecturer; Mihaela Manasia\, PhD\, Lecturer; Loredana Pătrașcoiu\, PhD\, Lecturer; Mihaela Giurgiulescu\, PhD\, Lecturer; Camelia-Daniela Plăstoi\, PhD\, Professor \nExternal stakeholders: Simona Maria Stănescu — Research Institute for Quality of Life (ICCV)\, Senior Researcher I and Doctoral Supervisor; Dragoș Drumen — Youth for Sustainable Development Association (Asociația Tineret pentru Dezvoltare Durabilă / ATDD) \n \n \n 2. Course Overview \nTeaching today is not only about delivering content well; it is about helping students to engage with\, remember and actually use what they learn. Learning becomes lasting when students investigate\, create\, collaborate\, play\, reflect\, receive meaningful feedback and connect new knowledge with real experiences. \nThe Active Learning Pedagogy School (ALPS) addresses a key question in higher education: how can university teachers design learning experiences that are meaningful\, inclusive and lasting? Rather than offering a collection of isolated techniques\, the programme treats active learning as a coherent process of experiencing\, reflecting\, redesigning\, testing and transferring. \nParticipants will first experience a range of methods as learners — including research-based learning\, storytelling\, World Café\, Universal Design for Learning (UDL)\, multimodal and tactile learning\, game-based learning\, digital pedagogy and non-formal education — and will then analyse why these methods work and how they can be applied in their own disciplines. Each participant brings a real course or teaching challenge to rethink and\, from Day 2 onwards\, works in an interdisciplinary and intercultural team to co-create and pilot a new Short Learning Opportunity (SLO). \nReflection is supported throughout by a Learning Diary\, the Sticky Wall\, a shared digital portfolio and the individual Learning that Sticks Passport. \n \n \n 3. Learning Journey \nOnline sessions: The programme begins with a short online preparatory session (18 November 2026\, 12:00–14:00 CET)\, where participants are introduced to the overall approach and the blended learning journey\, connect with peers and reflect on their current teaching practice. Each participant selects one real course sequence\, topic or teaching challenge to work on during the programme. \nOn-site sessions (Târgu Jiu\, Romania\, 24–27 November 2026): \nDay 1 — Connection & ChallengeDay 2 — Experiencing the Challenge & Mapping the NeedsDay 3 — Teamwork & Co-creationDay 4 — Piloting & ACE Teacher Persona \nWorking in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams\, participants will design\, test and refine a new shared SLO\, which is piloted through microteaching and peer feedback on the final day. \nLearning also takes place beyond the classroom: the Brâncuși Learning Quest: From Silence to Infinity is a team-based challenge following the route from the Table of Silence to the Endless Column\, turning the city into an experiential learning environment. An intercultural evening — Taste & Wear the Tradition: A Gorj Cultural Experience — brings together local gastronomy\, traditional costume and intercultural exchange. Accessible and weather-appropriate alternatives will be provided wherever needed. \nFollow-up / reflection: The programme concludes with an online follow-up session (2 December 2026\, 12:00–14:00 CET)\, where participants engage in guided reflection and peer exchange\, each sharing one concrete step for transferring the ALPS experience to their own teaching. \n \n \n 4. Learning Objectives \n\nTo understand and experience the principles of active-experiential learning in higher education through concrete methods.\nTo connect research-based learning\, storytelling\, UDL\, multimodal and tactile learning\, game-based learning\, digital pedagogy and non-formal methods with clear learning purposes.\nTo analyse current teaching practices and identify methods that can realistically be transferred to participants’ own disciplinary contexts.\nTo design inclusive\, student-centred learning activities that take learner variability into account.\nTo co-create a new interdisciplinary and intercultural Short Learning Opportunity (SLO) through teamwork\, prototyping and peer feedback.\nTo pilot\, assess and refine the shared SLO\, and to reflect on the teacher’s role as facilitator\, designer\, co-creator and ACE²-EU ambassador.\n\n \n \n 5. Learning Outcomes \nBy the end of the course\, participants will be able to: \n\nExplain the key principles of active\, experiential\, meaningful and lasting learning in higher education.\nAdapt selected research-based\, storytelling\, inclusive\, game-based\, digital and non-formal methods to their own disciplinary teaching.\nApply UDL and multimodal design principles to strengthen participation and access for diverse learners.\nDistinguish between individual course redesign and collaborative SLO co-creation\, and contribute effectively to both.\nCo-create\, prototype and pilot a new interdisciplinary and intercultural SLO using student-centred\, pedagogically coherent methods.\nUse peer feedback and assessment evidence to refine their active-learning designs.\nIdentify concrete methods to transfer into their own teaching and articulate their developing ACE Teacher Persona.\n\n \n \n 6. Who Should Apply \nThis course is suitable for academic and teaching staff from ACE²-EU partner universities involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education. \nIt is particularly relevant for participants from all academic disciplines who are interested in enhancing their teaching practice\, especially those who will design or deliver Short Learning Opportunities (SLOs)\, Micro-Learning Opportunities (MLOs)\, joint ACE²-EU programmes or other collaborative educational formats. \nThis course may be suitable for those who have an interest in: Active\, experiential and challenge-based learning · Research-based learning and inquiry · Storytelling and meaningful learning design · Universal Design for Learning (UDL)\, inclusive and multimodal/tactile learning · Game-based learning and non-formal education · Digital pedagogy and collaborative learning tools · Intercultural teamwork\, co-creation and SLO design · Peer feedback\, assessment for learning\, reflection and teacher facilitation. \nRequested Language Level: English B1–B2. This is mandatory\, as English is the working language of ACE²-EU courses. \n \n \n 7.
