SUMMARY:Build your BIP with ACE²-EU: Developing Successful BIPs from Concept to Implementation
DESCRIPTION:Course Type: Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) for staff \n  \nApplication Process: \nInterested applicants should \n🔗 Apply here — https://forms.gle/1uzVcC43LvkPtNgq5 \nDeadline for receipt of applications: 29 May\, 2026 \nPlease note that submitting an application does not guarantee a place on the programme. Participating institutions apply their own internal selection procedures. \n  \nDuration and Learning Format \nProvide a clear overview of the course structure\, including: \n\nThe total workload is 75 hours\, broken down as follows:\n\nSynchronous online activities: 5 h\nOn-site (physical mobility) activities: 30 h\nIndependent and group work: 40 h\n\n\nDates:\n\nOn-site component: 15-19 June\, 2026\, Ingolstadt\, Germany\nOnline component: 9 & 16 July\, 2026\n\n\n\nPlease note: Under Erasmus+ rules\, the minimum on-site duration for a BIP is five days. Only administrative and teaching staff who attend the full on-site week (15–19 June 2026) will be counted as BIP participants. Lecturers attending for a shorter period are welcome to join but will not be registered as BIP participants. \n  \nCredits and Certification \nCredits: 3 ECTS \nCertification: participants will receive a certificate of attendance \nOrganising Institutions and Teaching Staff: \nLead and Host Institution \n\nTechnische Hochschule Ingolstadt\, Germany\nAnna-Lisa Klages\, Sonja Bedington\, Fiona Nimser-Büchner\, Lara Schäfer\n\nPartner Institutions \nFrancisco de Vitoria University (UFV)\, Spain \n\nAlma Vázquez Esteban\n\nMedical University Gdansk (MUG)\, Poland \n\nDawid Spychała\, Karolina Derda\n\nCourse Overview \nBIPs – short for “Blended Intensive Programmes” are Erasmus+ programmes that offer a unique opportunity to enhance international collaboration and develop innovative transnational learning formats while benefiting from dedicated Erasmus+ funding that supports travel\, coordination\, and innovative course design. \nThey create a flexible space to experiment with new pedagogical approaches\, combining virtual collaboration with short\, impactful in-person exchanges that energise both students and instructors. It is financed by Erasmus+ funding\, allowing for organisational support (min. 4.000€) in addition to travel grants for participants. \nSince BIPs are ‘new territory’ to several institutions within the ACE²-EU Alliance\, the aim of this BIP is to train colleagues to become BIP experts. During the programme\, we will provide you with insights regarding terms\, conditions\, and particularities of BIPs\, thereby developing structures and processes to strategically embed BIPs into institutional developments. \nThis BIP addresses two target-groups: \n\nAdministrative staff involved with coordinating\, supporting\, and facilitating BIPs within the ACE²-EU Alliance and\nProfessors and scientific staff interested in developing a BIP in the areas of teaching\, research\, and/or entrepreneurship.\n\nThis is delivered as a single BIP structured in two phases\, not as two parallel programmes. During the first part of the on-site week\, the programme is dedicated to administrative staff\, who take a deep dive into BIP coordination\, evaluate best practices and develop a joint scheme for processes within the Alliance. In the second part\, the programme moves into project-based learning: administrative staff put what they have learned into practice\, while teaching staff receive a guided introduction to BIP development and work on potential BIP ideas to be taken further afterwards. Sessions on inclusive and diversity-sensitive BIP development\, as well as inputs on communication\, are open to all participants. \nAt the end of this course\, you will know everything you need to know about how to organise and coordinate your own BIP. Participating lecturers will have used the opportunity to exchange ideas\, work together in workshops to develop topics and content with colleagues from different Alliance institutions. In addition\, we will have laid out a foundation for the strategic positioning of BIPs to foster teaching\, research\, innovation\, entrepreneurship\, and vocational training within the ACE²-EU Alliance. \nLearning Journey \nThis BIP is divided into four major parts: \n\nIntroduction and information (on site)\nBest practices\, adaptation\, and integration (on site)\nExploration and structuring (on site)\nReflection and improvement (online)\n\nFor administrative staff: At the beginning of the course\, participants will receive a conceptual introduction to and important information about BIPs. After having gained in-depth insights\, they will develop processes and structures needed for the establishment of a workflow at their home institutions and within the Alliance. To do so\, they will work with case studies to assess best practices and pitfalls with the organisation of BIPs. \nFor teaching staff: Lecturers will join the programme on Wednesday. They will receive a concise introduction to BIP structures and how to develop a BIP. Furthermore\, they will learn about possibilities and potentials of integrating BIPs into their academic practice\, before they will take a deep dive into developing their own BIP ideas. \nThroughout the course\, hands-on workshops will be accompanied by thematic inputs on topics such as the development of inclusive and diversity-sensitive teaching formats or target-group-oriented communication. \nAll content-related activities will be accompanied by exercises and socio-cultural events that foster a positive working atmosphere. Furthermore\, social activities will allow for networking and thematic exploration. \nDuring the online follow-up sessions\, participants will reflect (9 July 2026) on post-on-site developments as well as focus on potentials for improvement (16 July 2026) of processes and developed structures. \nLocation: TH Ingolstadt \nDate: 15-19 June (on-site)\, 9 & 16 July (online) \nLearning Objectives \nBy the end of this Blended Intensive Programme\, all participants will be able to independently plan\, coordinate\, and strategically position a BIP within the ACE²-EU Alliance — equipped with the knowledge\, tools\, and cross-institutional networks needed to make Erasmus+ funded BIPs a sustainable part of their academic and administrative practice within the ACE²-EU Alliance. \nSpecific learning objectives include: \nBy the end of the BIP\, attending administrative staff will be able to: \n\nExplain the key terms\, funding conditions\, and structural requirements of Erasmus+ BIPs within the ACE²-EU Alliance context.\nEvaluate best practices and common pitfalls in BIP coordination by analysing real-world case studies.\nImplement sustainable administration processes for the integration of BIPs into institutional internationalisation strategies\nDesign institution-specific workflows and coordination processes that enable the systematic organisation and support of BIPs at their home institution.\nDevelop a strategic framework for embedding BIPs into their institution’s existing structures and the broader ACE²-EU Alliance strategy.\nApply target-group-oriented communication strategies for the promotion of BIPs\n\nBy the end of the BIP\, attending teaching staff will be able to: \n\nAssess how BIPs can be strategically integrated into their own academic practice across the areas of teaching\, research\, and/or entrepreneurship.\nDevelop a concrete BIP concept in collaboration with colleagues from other ACE²-EU Alliance institutions\, applying principles of inclusive and diversity-sensitive course design.\nPromote equity\, diversity\, and inclusion with their teaching\nRefine their BIP concept based on inclusion\, diversity\, and intersectionality dimensions\n\n  \nLearning Outcomes (By the end of the course\, participants will be able to): \n\nDevelop innovative and meaningful BIPs from theory to practice\nImplement sustainable administration processes\nDevelop communication and promotional strategies to improve the visibility of BIPs\nApply communication strategies to audiences from differing backgrounds\nPromote equity\, diversity and inclusion in international teaching formats\nCollaborate effectively with international colleagues\nTranslate institutional goals into practical implementation steps\nContribute actively to future BIP development through networking\, exchange of expertise\, and Alliance-based cooperation\n\n  \nWho would find this course useful? \nThis course may be suitable for teaching and administrative staff from ACE²-EU partner universities in all fields. \nThis course may be suitable for those who have an interest in: \nLearning how to plan\, coordinate\, implement\, and develop Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) within the ACE²-EU Alliance. \n\nRecommended Language Level:\n\nEnglish B2-C1\n\n\n\nPrior to the start of the course\, participants will receive a welcome email from the ACE²-EU Alliance with detailed instructions specific to the course. \n  \nFurther Information \nFor any further information or queries related to the course\, please contact: \nDr. Anna-Lisa Klages\,  ace2eu@thi.de

SUMMARY:UNd-9 United in Design – A Cross-Cultural Journey of Nine Cities
DESCRIPTION:Course Type: Flavour School \nDuration and Learning Format \nProvide a clear overview of the course structure\, including: \n\nTotal workload: 35 hours on-site (workshop activities\, design studios\, group discussions\, presentations)\nDates of on-site component: 21–25 September 2026 · 5 days · Stip\, North Macedonia\n\n  \nCredits and Certification \n2 ECTS \n\nOrganising Institutions and Teaching Staff: \nLead and Host Institution \nGoce Delcev University · Stip\, North Macedonia \nTeacher : Ekaterina Namiceva Todorovska (lead) \n\nPartner Institutions \nMedical University of Gdańsk \nTeacher : Magda Warzocha \n  \nExternal stakeholders \n\n\n\nStakeholder\nRole / Engagement\n\n\n\n\nMunicipality of Štip\nHost city · Provides public / semi-public space context for the exhibition panel and spatial marker prototype\n\n\n\n  \nCourse Overview \nUNd-9 United in Design is a short\, intensive\, cross-cultural workshop that brings together students from different creative and design-related disciplines to explore how design can communicate shared cultural narratives in public and semi-public spaces. The course is based on the idea of UNd-9 as a flexible framework that connects multiple cities through stories\, symbols and creative interpretations. \nThe workshop is intentionally open to students from different departments — architecture\, urban design\, graphic design\, fashion design\, product design\, fine arts\, media and related fields. Working in international and interdisciplinary teams\, participants use primarily paper-based methods\, complemented by simple physical modelling\, to research\, interpret and translate cultural identities into spatial and visual concepts. \nThe central task of the course is the conceptualisation and design of an exhibition panel or spatial marker intended for a university garden or open public space. In addition to drawings and narratives\, participants collaboratively construct one cardboard prototype that functions as a reference model. This prototype demonstrates how the UNd-9 concept can be extended\, adapted and replicated across different cities\, institutions and cultural contexts. \n  \nLearning Journey\nOn-site component — 21–25 September 2026 · 35h · Stip \nThe on-site sessions unfold as an intensive\, hands-on design laboratory over five consecutive days. Learning happens through doing: drawing\, mapping\, cutting\, assembling\, discussing and testing ideas together in a shared studio environment. \nStudents work in international and interdisciplinary teams\, moving fluidly between research\, storytelling and making. Using paper\, cardboard and simple tools\, participants explore cultural narratives and translate them into spatial and visual concepts. Ideas are continuously sketched\, pinned up\, reworked and debated\, allowing the design process to remain open\, experimental and collaborative. \nThe week culminates in the collective construction of one cardboard prototype\, conceived as an exhibition panel or spatial marker for a university garden or open space. Daily critiques\, informal reviews and a final presentation frame the experience as a shared journey — focused on process\, exchange and cross-cultural learning rather than on polished final results. \n\nLearning Objectives \nSpecific learning objectives include: \n\nExplore how cultural narratives and identities can be translated into visual\, material and spatial concepts.\nDevelop confidence in experimental\, paper-based and low-tech making processes\, including drawing\, mapping and cardboard prototyping.\nLearn to collaborate effectively in international and interdisciplinary teams\, valuing different creative approaches and perspectives.\nStrengthen storytelling and conceptual thinking as tools for design and artistic practice.\nUnderstand how temporary installations or spatial markers can activate and communicate meaning in shared university or public spaces.\nReflect on the role of design and creative practice in fostering dialogue\, inclusion and cross-cultural exchange.\n\n\nLearning Outcomes (By the end of the course\, students will be able to): \n\nTranslate cultural themes and narratives into visual\, material or spatial design concepts.\nUse paper-based and low-tech prototyping methods to develop and communicate design ideas.\nCollaborate effectively within international and interdisciplinary teams\, integrating diverse creative perspectives.\nDevelop and present a coherent concept for an exhibition panel or spatial marker in a shared open space.\nReflect critically on their own creative process and the value of cross-cultural collaboration in design and artistic practice.\n\n\nWhich students would find this course useful for them? \n👥 Who Should Apply? \n🎓 Level: Undergraduate and postgraduate students from ACE²-EU partner universities \n🌍 Fields: Architecture and Urban Design · Graphic Design and Visual Communication · Fashion and Textile Design · Product and Industrial Design · Fine Arts and Contemporary Art Practices · Media\, Communication and Creative Technologies · Landscape Architecture and Spatial Planning · Cultural Studies \n🤝 Suitable for those interested in: Cross-cultural and international collaboration in creative practice · Concept-driven design and artistic experimentation · Storytelling through visual\, material or spatial forms · Hands-on\, low-tech making using paper and cardboard · Temporary installations\, exhibition design and spatial communication · The role of design and art in fostering dialogue\, inclusion and shared cultural understanding \n🗣️ Language: English B1–B2 \n\nApplication Process: \nInterested applicants should \n🔗 Apply here: https://forms.gle/Lr4HUpt24XWCeuLP7 \nDeadline for receipt of applications: 15 July 2026 \nA notification of acceptance to participate will be sent to successful applicants by the host institution. As part of the European Green Deal\, the EU aims to be carbon neutral by 2050. Transitioning to renewable energy will be one of the main focuses in achieving this ambitious but necessary goal. This increase in infrastructure development and land-use pressure will inevitably impact nature. Our goal as planners\, engineers\, conservationists\, and citizens is to work together to mitigate these impacts so that our goal of becoming carbon neutral doesn’t outweigh our obligation to preserve and protect species\, habitats\, and the ecosystem services that they provide us with. Examples of this conflict include hydropower plants preventing fish migration\, birds and bats colliding into windmills\, and grid expansion affecting sensitive biotopes and habitats. \n  \nLearning Journey\nOnline sessions: \n\nAce Rookies MOOC completion\nIntroduction to the Participants: Background of lecturers and students\nIntroduction to the course: Key concepts\nCourse agenda\nKnowledge-Base: What do students currently know about the topic\nGuiding Questions and discussions in smaller groups\n\nOnsite sessions: \n\nTheory: Lean about case studies that are representative examples of this conflict in Europe.
