Based on real challenges from the local community in Târgu Jiu (Romania)\, the course combines theoretical input with practical experiences\, allowing students to interact directly with professionals working in law enforcement\, social services\, education\, justice\, and civil society. \nParticipants will explore the complexity of domestic violence through a multidisciplinary lens\, including legal\, psychological\, social\, cultural and ethical dimensions. They will engage in interactive sessions\, case analyses\, simulations\, and field visits\, and will collaborate on concrete proposals for improving prevention and intervention mechanisms. The course is designed for students preparing for careers in social work\, education\, psychology\, law\, healthcare\, culture and related fields. \nAt the end of the programme\, students will be required to develop a team-based research project in their home universities\, focusing on a topic directly linked to the course: children left without parental protection as a result of domestic violence-related crimes. The research outcomes will be compiled and published as a collective volume and may serve as the foundation for future European-funded project proposals. The course focuses on creating inclusive solutions to real challenges in line with the ‘Society for All’ vision and\, through a service-learning (SL) and project-based learning approach\, engages students in meaningful community initiatives that encourage complex and holistic interventions to support the well-being and participation of people with disabilities.“ \n Course Description:\n \nThis course offers an immersive learning journey that combines interactive online sessions\, practical onsite experiences\, and reflective follow-up activities\, designed to strengthen students’ knowledge and skills in inclusive education and support for people with disabilities. \nThe programme begins with interactive online activities (17 – 19 November 2025)\, introducing participants to essential concepts such as sustainable development\, human rights\, and the principles of creating schools and societies for all. Students will explore key topics including neurodiversity\, disability and special educational needs\, equity in education\, and universal design frameworks (including Universal Design for Learning and Augmentative and Alternative Communication\, as aligned with the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities). The sessions will also address different types of accessibility\, assistive and smart assistive technologies\, as well as approaches such as Person-Centered Planning and User-Centered Design. \nThe learning experience continues with the onsite component (01 – 05 December 2025)\, blending theoretical modules with applied\, hands-on engagement in real-life contexts. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the support systems available for people with disabilities\, covering topics such as social support services\, the interdisciplinary roles of professionals\, and communication techniques adapted to various types of disabilities. Practical activities will include participation in adapted games and social engagement at a Day Centre for people with disabilities\, as well as observational and interactive sessions at a Centre for Inclusive Education. These sessions will provide insight into differentiated teaching tools\, the comparative benefits and challenges of inclusive versus mainstream education\, and the role of families in the educational process. Students will also engage in case study analysis\, examining how educational\, social\, and medical services integrate to ensure comprehensive and continuous care. \nThe course concludes with online reflection activities (12 December 2025)\, where participants will consolidate and share their learning. Students will be encouraged to organize workshops at their home institutions\, design awareness campaigns\, produce educational materials\, and collaborate on mini-projects with universities or local organizations. Designed for students from diverse disciplines\, the course introduces the EU’s approach to sustainability and empowers youth to act as agents of change in their communities. \nWorking in international and interdisciplinary teams\, students will explore EU sustainability law and policies\, identify local challenges\, and co-design innovative solutions in collaboration with universities\, local stakeholders\, and civil society. The programme culminates in the design and presentation of community-based project proposals that translate European sustainability strategies into practical local action. \n  \nCourse Description:\n \nThe course is designed to introduce\, deepen\, and broaden students’ understanding of sustainability as a multidimensional concept\, with particular emphasis on the policies\, legal frameworks\, and practices that underpin the development of sustainable societies. The entire course is delivered through online sessions\, on-site session and reflection session\, \nOnline sessions: The online component of the course provides students with a foundational understanding of sustainability in the European context\, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application.
