Applied Research, Development, and Innovation Centres (ARCs) will bring together research and innovation expertise from across the Alliance and its external stakeholders and partners into multidisciplinary knowledge creation teams focused on developing innovative joint RDI activities that will provide innovative solutions to challenges posed by government, industry, business and societal stakeholders. The ARCs will connect and train students and researchers across the Alliance’s inter-university campus. Initially, it is proposed that the ARIS incubator will establish three ARCs in the areas of Sustainable Technologies, Digital Transformation, and Health & Well Being. The ARCs will seek national and EU funding for their joint RDI activities, and their future development. The ARCs will be responsible for the implementation of a series of activities across ACE2-EU including the:
ARC Knowledge Creation Team Workshops to facilitate the development of joint RDI applications and projects by experts from the ACE2-EU ARCs (9 events, 3 days duration).
The knowledge creation team workshops will bring together research students, researchers and key external stakeholders and partners of the Alliance.
- Student-Led Research Events including colloquia, conferences, and competitions, will facilitate the sharing of new research and innovation knowledge across the Alliance relevant to the development of new learning opportunities and the future activities of the ARCs.
- ARC Engagement Events with Industry involving students, researchers, and external stakeholders to promote the results of the ARCs and facilitate further exploration of joint RDI development opportunities with external stakeholders and partners.
The RDI programmes to be developed and delivered by the ARCs will involve the participation of students, researchers, and external stakeholders drawn from all members of the Alliance.
