- Understanding changemaking as both a mindset and a practical process;
- Strengthening leadership and facilitation skills among university staff;
- Connecting academic knowledge with real-world societal challenges;
- Supporting institutional change and social innovation within higher education environments;
- Providing practical tools for guiding changemaking initiatives from identifying challenges to achieving meaningful outcomes;
- Enabling university staff to implement the Changemaker Ambassador Programme for ACE²-EU students at their own institutions.
- Event Short Description (from the project)
The Train the Trainers Programme is an introductory capacity-building course designed to support the integration of changemaking into teaching, curriculum development, and institutional culture within higher education.
The programme is part of the broader SPACE Centre Changemaker Ambassador programme initiative under the Social Impactors operational unit and aims to equip university staff with the knowledge, skills, and practical tools needed to facilitate changemaking processes within their institutions and support future programme participants.
- Target Group
The programme’s target audience is academic staff, administrative and support staff, as well as university professionals interested in social innovation, student engagement, curriculum development, or institutional transformation at ACE2-EU partner universities, aiming to expand their leadership and facilitation skills to successfully lead changemaking processes toward an equitable future.
- Structure & Methodology
The programme is organised as a three-day intensive training that combines theory, practice, and reflection. It is centred on exploring how changemaking can become an integral part of higher education institutions and everyday academic practice. Throughout the programme, participants will engage with key concepts, approaches, and tools that enable individuals and institutions to create meaningful social impact. A significant part of the training will focus on facilitation skills, the dialogue circle method, and learning about the theory of change, which can be taught to students as a practical approach to creating positive change within academic and community settings. Using practical evaluation tools, they will assess the gap between current and desired institutional realities and design targeted interventions to enhance the university’s capacity for social impact and transformation.
