The Kaunas University of Applied Engineering Sciences (LIK) is a higher education institution, established in 1920, offering nine professional bachelor’s degree programmes in the fields of Civil, Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical, Automotive and Aeronautical engineering. As a university of applied sciences, LIK’s key focus areas are applied scientific research and providing students with skills that would increase their employability and cater to the needs of the regional, national and international industry. Today, LIK is creative, inclusive, an open to innovation with strong industry connections that guarantee industry placements and successful employment for its students. We work tirelessly to become the leader among the applied science universities in the Baltic countries and to develop engineering competencies that ensure the advancement of a smart society. LIK’s priority research areas include studies of smart and efficient engineering solutions in construction and road engineering, development and analysis of electronic and electrical engineering systems, studies of ecological vehicles, research on the effectiveness of modern materials processing technologies, diagnostic studies of the condition of aircraft functional systems and structural elements, and educational research. Thus, LIK as a robust cooperation network with the local industry and other stakeholders to foster applied scientific research and preparation of students to solve challenges faced by today, and tomorrow, labour market.
LIK is a leading university of applied sciences belonging to the elite of technical HEIs in the Baltic States, training highly qualified specialists in the field of technical engineering and carrying out advanced development activities in its region.
It currently offers fifteen professional bachelor programs: Mechanical and Civil Engineering, Aeronautical and Transport Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Forestry, Real Estate Cadastral Measurements, Hydrotechnical Engineering.
Bachelor’s programs are focused on balancing theoretical knowledge with practical skills, which allows students to launch a successful career upon graduation.
