Today marked an exciting milestone for the Blue Bioeconomy project: Algae for Food Innovation!
Students from nine universities came together in Santarém, Portugal, for the first time to meet the course professors and kick off this international blended challenge.

This unique programme brings together passionate undergraduate and postgraduate students to explore how algae and aquatic biomass can shape the future of sustainable food ingredients. Through collaboration, expert mentoring and hands-on learning, the students are transforming scientific principles into practical solutions for the algae-based food industry.

The journey began with an in-depth exploration of algae cultivation and its applications in sustainable ingredients, bridging the gap between theory and real-life technologies and innovations.
