First ACE²-EU Knowledge Creation Workshop on Gender Equity held at the Latvian Academy of Culture

Following intensive collaboration and international exchange, the first ACE²-EU Knowledge Creation Team Workshop on Gender Equity (KCTW) has been successfully completed at the Latvian Academy of Culture (LAC). The programme was dedicated to advancing gender equity. Held from April 27 to 29, the programme brought together students, academic staff, and external partners from nine ACE²-EU partner universities. Throughout the workshop, participants collaboratively analyzed current challenges, shared experiences, and developed proposals for future collaboration in advancing gender equity.

During the workshop, participants worked in international teams to examine regional, national, and interinstitutional challenges and to initiate the development of joint action plans to address them, drawing on their professional experience and resources.

The workshop format enabled participants to reflect on and exchange perspectives related to gender identity, self-expression, gender power relations, pay inequality, and employment issues, both at professional and personal levels. The program was based on creating an inclusive and safe environment, with participants actively involved in shaping the workshop process.

Following the conclusion of the programme, participants will continue their collaboration in international teams, meeting regularly in online working groups. These groups will continue to welcome both current experts and additional representatives from partner universities who are interested in and actively involved in gender equity.

The programme was implemented within the framework of the SPACE Centre’s Social Impactors strand, piloting a new workshop format and collaboration model. The experience gained will guide the development of future workshop series focused on other Social Impactors topics, such as Culture and Diversity, Social Well-being, and Respect and Dignity.
