“Social Impactors” at the Medical University of Gdańsk (MUG)

On Monday, 28 April 2025, a workshop titled “Social Impactors” took place at the Medical University of Gdańsk (MUG), aimed at creating a space for reflection, dialogue, and the exchange of experiences around key social values.
The event brought together 25 participants representing diverse academic and cultural backgrounds present at MUG. Facilitators:
  • Katarzyna Bruder – Head of the ACE²-EU Alliance Office
  • Izabela Kowalczyk-Dec – Coordinator of the Social Impactors project from the Development Office
Workshop in the World Café Format – A Space for Dialogue and Collaboration
The sessions were conducted in the inspiring World Café format – a workshop methodology that fosters open dialogue and collective thinking. Participants gathered at four themed tables:
  • “Espresso”
  • “Cappuccino”
  • “Latte”
  • “Macchiato”
Each round focused on one of the following topics:
  • Inclusion & Multiculturalism
  • Social Well-Being
  • Respect & Dignity
  • Gender Equality
Each topic was introduced with a brief opening, after which participants – rotating between tables – shared reflections, experiences, and ideas for action. Each table had its own “host” who ensured continuity of discussion and summarised the outcomes of previous rounds.
Key Values of the World Café Format:
  • Democratisation of voice – every participant has the space to be heard.
  • Collective wisdom – we think together, inspiring one another.
  • Relationship building – the format encourages openness and collaboration.
  • Deepening reflection – successive rounds develop ideas and conclusions.
  • Vision for change – the outcome is tangible inspiration for action.
Shared Responsibility for Social Change
The atmosphere of engagement and mutual respect encouraged participants to openly share their thoughts and experiences. A rich collection of ideas and inspirations emerged, supporting integration, well-being, and equality within the academic community.
Importantly, some participants expressed a willingness to further engage in the ACE²-EU Alliance’s activities – including through volunteering and supporting future social initiatives.
A heartfelt thank you to all participants for your active involvement and commitment to building a community grounded in equality, inclusion, and mutual support!
