UGD Successfully Hosted the ACE²-EU Flavour School on Economic Resilience and Global Business Challenges

Goce Delcev University successfully hosted the ACE²-EU Flavour School titled “Economic Resilience in Times of Crisis, Security Challenges and Uncertainties: Global Business Perspectives”, held from 1 to 5 June as part of the activities of the European University Alliance ACE²-EU.

Over the course of five intensive days, around 30 students from partner universities within the alliance participated in a comprehensive academic programme focused on economic resilience, crisis management, security challenges, and the impact of global uncertainties on modern economies and businesses.

The programme included lectures, workshops, case studies, and interactive discussions led by academics and experts from several European countries. Through a multidisciplinary approach, participants explored current economic challenges, the role of institutions during periods of instability, and strategies for building more resilient economies and organizations.

In addition to the academic activities organized at Goce Delcev University, students and professors visited several key institutions in North Macedonia, providing them with first-hand insight into the country’s economic governance and policy-making processes.

One of the highlights of the programme was the visit to the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia. During the visit, participants attended presentations and discussions with representatives of the central bank, who introduced them to current macroeconomic trends, monetary policy instruments, financial stability mechanisms, and the approaches used by national economies to respond to crises, inflationary pressures, and global uncertainties.

The group also visited the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia, where students gained valuable insight into the Chamber’s role in representing and supporting the business community. Through meetings with experts and institutional representatives, participants learned more about economic policy development, public-private cooperation, business resilience strategies, and the challenges faced by companies in an increasingly complex global environment.

As part of the programme, participants also took part in networking and cultural activities in Skopje. These activities encouraged intercultural exchange, strengthened cooperation among students from different countries, and created opportunities for future academic and professional collaboration.

The successful organization of the Flavour School further demonstrates Goce Delcev University’s active contribution to the ACE²-EU Alliance and its commitment to providing international, innovative, and practice-oriented learning opportunities. Through initiatives such as this, students are able to connect academic knowledge with real-world challenges, learn from international experts, and build networks that will support their future academic and professional development.
