For its participation in the European Alliance, UGD received recognition for the development of higher education on an international level.

This year, Goce Delchev University from North Macedonia received recognition from the Eastern Region Journalists’ Network, an informal association of journalists operating in the eastern region of the country. UGD was awarded this recognition for its significant contribution to the development of higher education on an international level, specifically for its participation in the European University Alliance Ace2Eu.
The award was received by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at UGD, Prof. Dr. Ana Nikodinovska Krstevska, during a ceremonial event in Sveti Nikole.

“Thanks to the journalists who highlighted the importance of what UGD is currently doing with the European University Alliance. This alliance represents an elevation of higher education to a higher, European level, and UGD from Shtip stands alongside some with prominent European universities. In short, this means that students studying within this alliance will have the opportunity to earn a European diploma that will be on par with those from all European universities. The university remains open to all forms of cooperation with journalists regarding higher education,” stated Prof. Dr. Nikodinovska upon receiving the award.

So far, 64 such alliances have been funded by the European Union, spanning 35 countries, including all EU member states, as well as Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, and Turkey. These are deeply integrated communities and innovation networks that connect and bring together more than 2,200 partners, including the non-governmental sector, businesses, local and regional communities, and higher education institutions that are part of the Bologna Process.

In addition to UGD, numerous companies, organizations, institutions, sports clubs, and individuals also received awards from the journalists of the eastern region. The journalists’ awards have been presented for the tenth consecutive year, and this year’s awards pertain to achievements in the eastern region of the country in 2024.
