ACE²-EU Rectors and Presidents Sign the Founding Documents of the Alliance’s Legal Entity

Târgu Jiu, 29 October 2026

During the 2nd ACE²-EU Annual Congress, hosted by Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu Jiu, the Rectors and Presidents of the nine partner universities of the ACE²-EU European University Alliance signed a set of founding documents. These documents mark a decisive stage in the institutional development of the alliance.

The signed documents are:

  • the Statutes of the ACE²-EU European University entity;
  • the ACE²-EU By-laws, which set out the governance and operating rules of the alliance;
  • the Joint Rectors’ Declaration on formal institutional approval.

With these commitments, the partner institutions lay the legal and institutional foundation of the future European University entity. The pilot legal entity will operate the ACE²-EU e-Campus and support the joint delivery of programmes, student mobility and cross-institutional collaboration. It is an essential milestone for the long-term operational sustainability of the alliance.

The signing reflects the shared commitment of the nine institutions to ensure the stability of ACE²-EU and its steady progress. It comes as the alliance enters Year 3 of its work plan and prepares for the Mid-Term Review.

Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu Jiu is honoured to have hosted this milestone. It thanks the Rectors and Presidents of the partner universities, the ACE²-EU Governing Authority and all the teams whose work made this moment possible.
