European Universities Join Forces: ACE²-EU Alliance Workshop in Villach/Austria

Villach, 11-12 February 2025 – As part of the ACE²-EU Alliance, representatives from all nine partner universities met for a face-to-face meeting on 11 and 12 February. The main objective of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation in research, innovation and entrepreneurship and to develop a common concept for the Alliance’s “incubator”.

The Work Package “ARIES Incubator”, which focuses on promoting entrepreneurship and innovation processes, was the central theme of the two-day event. Project members from all participating universities took the opportunity to exchange ideas and align on key structures and objectives. These will later be documented in an “Operational Framework” to guide future collaboration within the Alliance.

A particular highlight of the event was the presentation of best-practice projects, providing the international guests with exclusive insights into successful initiatives in research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The exchange of ideas with experts allowed for valuable impulses for the further development of joint projects within the ACE²-EU Alliance.

“The ACE²-EU Alliance offers a unique platform for international knowledge exchange. Close collaboration among our universities not only strengthens the innovative capacity of our institutions but also enhances Europe’s competitiveness as a hub for science and business,” emphasised Julia Marinaccio, Head of the European University Office at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences and host of this event.

The ACE²-EU Alliance aims to further develop the European higher education landscape through cooperation in teaching, research, and innovation. This event marks an important milestone in the establishment of a sustainable innovation ecosystem within the Alliance.
