Alongside the 2nd ACE²-EU Annual Congress, students from across the Alliance opened the Kaleidoscope Culture Festival with a day of challenges, creativity and discovery in Târgu Jiu.
Târgu Jiu, Romania, 28 October 2026
While the 2nd ACE²-EU Annual Congress shapes the strategy of the Alliance, students from our partner universities are bringing it to life. Hosted by Universitatea Constantin Brâncuși (UCB), the Kaleidoscope Culture Festival 2026 runs from 28 to 30 October under the motto “100 Voices – One Future”.
The first day of the festival was full of energy, ideas and connection.
A day of discovery and creativity
The festival opened with a Kick-off: Vision & Collaboration session, which set the spirit for the days ahead. It was followed by Get to Know Each Other, where new faces from across Europe quickly became new friends.
In the Puzzle of Culture Challenge, students explored how their different cultures fit together. The OPEN CALL: Student Innovation Lab then put student ideas at the centre, giving participants space to propose and develop their own initiatives.
In the afternoon, the Digital Storytelling Challenge invited students to tell Europe’s stories in their own voices. During the Guided Field Experience: Heritage & Digital Storytelling, they explored the cultural heritage of Târgu Jiu, while other participants rehearsed for the evening’s main event.
Tonight: Kaleidoscope of Cultures Showcase
The first day ends with the Kaleidoscope of Cultures Showcase. Students will bring the colours, sounds and traditions of their home countries to one stage.
All partners and friends of the Alliance are warmly invited to join us and celebrate the diversity that makes ACE²-EU strong.
What’s next
The festival continues on 29 October with the ACE TALK on Cultural Diversity & Social Well-being, a Digital Storytelling Lab and a Masquerade Ball. On 30 October, it closes with the ACE GALA Awards Ceremony, a city exhibition and a grand closing with classical music.
Many cultures. 100 voices. One future.
