Târgu Jiu, Romania | 26 October 2026
What will Europe look like tomorrow and who will help shape its future?
As Europe navigates an increasingly complex global landscape, students and university staff are coming together at Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu Jiu to explore the challenges, opportunities, and decisions that will influence the continent’s future.
On 26 October 2026, the university launched the on-site component of “Shaping Europe’s Future Together: Perspectives on Global Challenges”, an international Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) organised within the ACE²-EU European University Alliance.
Taking place in Târgu Jiu, Romania, from 26 to 30 October 2026, the programme creates an interdisciplinary learning environment in which participants examine how contemporary global challenges are transforming Europe’s economy, institutions, legal frameworks, and society.
Global Challenges, European Perspectives
From digital transformation and economic uncertainty to sustainability, institutional development, and social change, Europe faces interconnected challenges that require innovative thinking and collaborative responses.
The programme invites participants to explore these issues through the complementary perspectives of business, public administration, and law, encouraging a deeper understanding of the relationships between economic development, governance, regulation, and social responsibility.
Throughout the learning activities, participants will address key topics, including:
- Sustainable and responsible business practices
- Governance, public administration, and institutional development
- Legal and regulatory developments
- Digital transformation and innovation
- Leadership, cooperation, and European integration
- Resilience, inclusion, and long-term development
By examining these themes together, the programme encourages participants to move beyond individual disciplines and develop a broader understanding of the forces shaping Europe’s future.
From International Dialogue to Collaborative Solutions
Designed as a Blended Intensive Programme, the educational experience combines a virtual component, held from 19 to 23 October 2026, with face-to-face activities hosted by Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu Jiu from 26 to 30 October 2026.
A central feature of the programme is its collaborative and interdisciplinary approach.
Working in mixed student–staff teams, participants will analyse contemporary European challenges, exchange perspectives, and develop recommendations aimed at supporting a more resilient, inclusive, and forward-looking Europe.
This approach transforms the learning experience into an opportunity for international dialogue, critical thinking, and practical problem-solving.
Rather than simply examining Europe’s challenges, participants are encouraged to consider how their knowledge, professional experience, and innovative ideas can contribute to meaningful solutions.
The programme is aligned with ISCED-F 0488, Business, administration and law (interdisciplinary programmes).
Upon successful completion, participants will receive 3 ECTS credits and a certificate of attendance.
Through joint educational initiatives, the alliance provides opportunities for students and university staff to learn across borders, exchange knowledge, and develop competencies that respond to the evolving needs of European society.
“Shaping Europe’s Future Together: Perspectives on Global Challenges” reflects this shared mission by connecting academic expertise with international perspectives and collaborative learning.
Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu Jiu: A Meeting Point for European Ideas
By hosting this international programme, Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu Jiu continues to strengthen its commitment to academic internationalisation, interdisciplinary education, and meaningful European cooperation.
The programme highlights the university’s role as a space for dialogue, innovation, and the exchange of ideas, bringing together participants with different academic backgrounds and cultural perspectives.
Beyond the acquisition of knowledge, the initiative encourages participants to reflect on their responsibility as future professionals, decision-makers, and active members of European society.
It also demonstrates the importance of education in preparing individuals to navigate uncertainty, understand complex global developments, and contribute constructively to Europe’s long-term development.
Europe’s future will not be shaped by a single discipline, institution, or country. It will emerge through cooperation, shared knowledge, and the willingness to address common challenges together.
Through “Shaping Europe’s Future Together: Perspectives on Global Challenges”, Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu Jiu and the ACE²-EU European University Alliance reaffirm the importance of international education in building a more resilient, inclusive, and innovative Europe.
Different perspectives. Shared challenges. One European future.
