ACE²-EU is a European Universities Alliance committed to building an integrated academic and research community founded on shared quality standards. This three-day on-site workshop brings together the QA leads of all partner universities to consolidate the Alliance’s common Quality Assurance Framework, agree joint procedures and share instruments for verification and continuous improvement.

1. Organising Institution

Organised by: Santarém Polytechnic University, Portugal — within Work Package 7, in support of Work Package 2 (Quality Assurance)

2. Objectives

This workshop aims to:

align the ACE²-EU Quality Assurance Framework across all partner universities and reach a common understanding of its principles, criteria and indicators
review and refine the QA procedures that apply to the joint educational offer of the Alliance, in particular Micro Learning Opportunities (MLOs), Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) and Joint Master Degrees (JMDs)
share good practices, tools and challenges from each institutional QA system and identify areas for harmonisation
agree on the workflows, roles and responsibilities of the QA coordinators within their institutions and across the Alliance
draft a joint action plan for the year ahead, including monitoring indicators and internal-review calendars

3. Structure & Methodology

The programme is organised as an interactive on-site working meeting combining short expert inputs with hands-on collaborative sessions:

Day 1 (29/09/2026) — Framework alignment: presentation of the current QA Framework, mapping to each institutional QA system and identification of gaps and overlaps.

Day 2 (30/09/2026) — Working sessions on joint procedures: MLO/BIP verification workflow, JMD accreditation touchpoints, evidence-collection templates and internal-review calendars.

Day 3 (01/10/2026) — Consolidation and action planning: agreement on the harmonised procedures, distribution of responsibilities across the Alliance and definition of the follow-up roadmap.

Methodology is participatory, with brief thematic inputs by the WP7 and WP2 leaders and the Qualink office, followed by workshops, group work and plenary discussions. Working materials will be circulated in advance.

4. Who should attend

Quality Assurance leads and coordinators of each ACE²-EU partner university. Each partner university is invited to designate up to two representatives.
