On 3 November, the first day of the ACE²-EU Alliance networking event “ACEploration” took place at the Latvian Academy of Culture (LAC). In line with the thematic framework set by LAC – “Connecting, Engaging and Communicating across disciplines, communities and cultures” – the day focused on networking activities, the presentation of joint learning initiatives, and the identification of potential avenues for collaboration.
The programme included a lecture on media literacy and the challenges posed by disinformation, highlighting the importance of critical thinking in today’s information environment. The session emphasised the need for students to develop the ability to navigate the digital sphere, assess information sources, and foster sustainable media consumption habits. This was followed by a series of ice-breaking activities that strengthened interpersonal communication, trust-building and intercultural exchange, creating a solid foundation for effective co-creation work in the days to come.
After the lunch break, participants explored LAC’s study and research environment during a guided tour of the Academy’s premises at 58a Miera Street. The visit provided insight into the institution’s infrastructure, study processes and academic daily life. Later in the afternoon, participants presented proposals for joint study programmes and collaboration initiatives, outlining their concepts and expressing interest in further developing selected projects.
The day concluded with the first co-creation session, during which participants worked on shaping inter-university cooperation ideas into short-term learning modules and joint project formats.
