Applied, Connected, Entrepreneurial and Engaged – European University

Day 1 – ACE²-EU Knowledge Creation Team Workshop #2 (KCTW#2)

Gdańsk set a confident tone as the ACE²-EU Knowledge Creation Team Workshop #2 opened at the Medical University of Gdańsk under the banner Together for Health – Inspiring Change, Inspiring Care: Health on Horizon Translational Medicine, with the subtheme centred on the Health and Wellbeing Applied Research & Innovation Centre, ARIES Incubator. From the morning welcome, participants moved into practical guidance on European funding, learning how to identify relevant Horizon Europe calls, read criteria, and position ideas for real world relevance. The pitching session energised the room, helping teams distill complex challenges into clear narratives that speak to care, impact, and translational pathways. In the afternoon, “From Idea to Application” introduced—and then applied—the logic matrix, linking needs to objectives, activities, deliverables, outcomes, and long term impact. By close of day, groups had formed around shared priorities, selected specific calls to develop, and outlined first steps to turn inspiration into structured, fundable projects that reflect the workshop’s call to inspire change and care.
