This ACE2-EU Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) brings together students from across Europe to co-create visual and poetic documentary works focused on cultural heritage and place-based storytelling. Hosted in Kuldīga, Latvia – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – the programme combines online collaboration, hands-on fieldwork, and artistic co-creation.
Participants will:
✔ Gain skills in photography, filmmaking, and editing
✔ Learn to co-create in multicultural teams
✔ Produce a photography portfolio and a short poetic documentary (étude)
✔ Present and reflect on their artistic processes and outcomes.
Open to students from ACE2-EU partner institutions. The working language is English.
Students must have prior experience in photography and/or filmmaking through coursework, personal projects, or practical engagement.
If your university does not offer audiovisual or photography courses, you must upload a portfolio in the registration form. This will be reviewed by tutors from the Latvian Academy of Culture.
This BIP addresses the challenge of reimagining how we document and share cultural memory through inclusive, creative, and collaborative storytelling. By combining poetic documentary, visual arts, and digital tools, the programme fosters transnationalcooperation, co-creation, and artistic innovation. Students will work in international teams, engaging with local environments while promoting intercultural dialogue, sustainability, and ethical representation.
The programme is supported by three key external stakeholders:
