Launch of the On-site Component of the Course “Equipped to Act: Building Professional Competence in Preventing and Responding to Domestic Violence”

📍 Constantin Brâncuși University, Târgu Jiu, Romania

The first on-site session of the course “Equipped to Act: Building Professional Competence in Preventing and Responding to Domestic Violence” officially took place today in Târgu Jiu, Romania. The event brought together students from across the Alliance, marking the beginning of a dynamic learning experience focused on strengthening professional competencies in the prevention of, and response to, domestic and gender-based violence.
The session introduced participants to the European approaches and guiding principles that support victim protection, equality, and coordinated intervention. Alongside the theoretical overview, students engaged in interactive, scenario-based activities designed to encourage applied learning, critical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving.

This first day set the foundation for a comprehensive training programme aimed at preparing future professionals to act effectively within multidisciplinary and international contexts.
